Find the optimal location for your artesian well

At SOS Puits, we understand the importance of choosing the right location for your artesian well. Taking into account your preferences, accessibility, and the regulations set by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment, and Fight against Climate Change, we guide you in deciding the best location for your well when constructing your new home. Here are some key points to help you choose the ideal location for your artesian well:

  1. Proximity to the house The well should be located close enough to the house, while maintaining a minimum distance of 10 feet (about 3 meters).
  2. Terrain accessibility : Ensure that the terrain is accessible for machinery, including two trucks approximately 30 feet in length each.
  3. Avoid obstacles : Be mindful of obstacles such as power lines and trees, as the drilling rig mast is at least 30 feet tall.
  4. Avoid steep slopes : Whenever possible, avoid steep slopes, as the drilling rig needs to be leveled before drilling.
  5. Distance from septic installations : Locate the well at least 100 feet away from the septic field and 50 feet away from a septic tank. Also consider the septic systems of your neighbors.
  6. Distance from chemically treated areas : Keep your well away from areas where pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and other chemicals that can seep into the ground are used.
  7. Accessibility for maintenance The well should be easily accessible for regular maintenance.
  8. Aesthetics and use of the land Keep in mind that, according to groundwater regulations, the well must extend above ground level by approximately 30 centimeters.
  9. Prohibited locations : Do not place the well in basements, under paved driveways, or under electrical wires and entrances.
